Sourceforge awards

RepRap has made it to the finals of the SourceForge.net Community Choice Awards in the "Most Likely to Change the Way You Do Everything" category, so, firstly and most importantly, a big thanks to all of you who voted for the project :-)

We've done a video on RepRap for the finals, and we think it makes a good general introduction to the project too.

RepRap from Adrian Bowyer on Vimeo.

So now, when your friends who don't know the difference between the Java heap and an H bridge ask what it's all about, you can point them at that and go back to your beer...

It's nice that you included the cost in euros, but I think a lot of people from the Americas don't know the conversion ratio between euros and dollars. It would be nice if both were mentioned in the video.

Pity you didn't get started on the editing earlier. Had I known that there was a problem with my clips I could have fixed them in the space between when I submitted and when you finally got round to doing the editing. I bought a higher res videocam last month that, I suspect, could have given you usuable content.

Great video Adrian and Ed. Now when my girlfriend asks me what the hell the reprap does I can show her this instead of getting her very confused by my rather lackluster explination skills.

Yep - I'm emailing the link to my parents too... ;-)
