congrats, i look forward to seeing how well it works for you.

i was thinking with this style, could a person mount the motor on the frame of your reprap, and leave the flat gear on the printing bed.?

or was i the one who was thinking you would still mount the stepper on the printing platform
 

You could do it either way. I'm actually going to build this system into a delta robot just for fun, so this issue doesn't come up for me. :-)
