We've kicked around the idea of a RepRap being able to store parts on a USB drive so that no PC is actually needed to print things out. It's a little esoteric and not a near-future priority, but for those into such things this article describes how a PIC can be interfaced to a USB Flash drive using a VNC1L Vinculum controller IC:
