Stop bad 3D printing patents

The EFF and Ask Patents are organising the submission of prior-art to stop 3D printing patents that shouldn't be awarded.  Details are here:

https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2013/03/effs-fight-open-3d-printing-continues-askpatentscom

There is a vast wealth of research and prior art in the RepRap community, on its Wiki, and in its blogs.  All this material is in the public domain, and any attempt to patent any of it should not, therefore, be allowed.

Please take a minute every now and then to visit the site and see if some company is trying to patent something that you know is already public.  And fill in the form with a reference (or better a link) to any prior art that you know.

  1. Well said Adrian.

It's going to get messy, that's for sure.

The Title of this post does however make it sound like there are 'good' 3D printing patents. I can't think of many good ones at this point.

  2. Adrian, Rich, well said indeed: The center of the future struggle between Maker-collectivism and 21st Century Neo-capitalism?

The battle to prevent individuals-with-capital 'pulling a MakerBot' on heated 3DP conveyance systems for example...?

Keeping 3D Printables Search as open-source as possible may be another center of the forthcoming geo-political polemic diatribe on IP - we are looking at simple solutions to this:

Rachel covered it at 3DPI - DEFCAD.com seems a little irresponsible a way to get around technate-meme-war IP hording?
